Ziggy’s Healthy Grill

Breakfast at Ziggy’s…I think I’ve Fallen in Love with Another Man…

On Saturday, my husband I and decided to celebrate his newly achieved weekends off by going to brunch then a cooking class!  So, we decided to go to Ziggy’s Healthy Grill for brunch after a quick run. We had gone to Ziggy’s once before and were impressed by the food options, but not so impressed with the service…

However, this visit was great and put us both in an excellent mood for the rest of the day (ask for Jerry, he’s a great server)!

My hubby got two eggs scrambled (you can substitute egg substitute), turkey sausage, a whole wheat english muffin, and sweet potato hashbrowns (which was the reason he got this meal).

I was torn between multigrain pecan Belgian waffles with Pecans and Apples, multigrain pancakes with baked apples and cinnamon, and whole wheat pecan french toast. After asking our wonderful waiter Jerry for his opinion, I ended up with the multigrain pancakes and one scrambled egg, I was not disappointed!

Words can’t describe how great these pancakes were! I think they included applesauce and cinnamon in the pancake batter, and topped them with baked apples with fresh cinnamon, no sugar added here! The natural sweetness of the apples shone and defined this dish. What impressed me more is that after eating the pancakes, I felt full and ready to take on the rest of my day!

See how moist these pancakes were…I’m going to be craving these every weekend now…if you look closely, you can even see the cinnamon that was in the pancake batter!

At the end of our meal, I was intrigued by their gluten and sugar free muffins. Jerry had already given us our bill, but he brought me the muffin on the house.

I had it this morning after my run…it was also excellent, naturally sweetened by the cranberries.

Not only were we completely satisified with our brunch, but it was very reasonably priced. For both of our brunches, plus two Texas Pecan coffee’s, we paid ~$16 including tip. We will be back!
