Winter Season Memorial Team in Training

I’ve noticed a bit of a need to have one consolidated place to put all of the information for my work with Team in Training, and this is it!

First, what is Team in Training?

Team in Training supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. You likely have seen the purple shirts in races or have heard about the Team in passing at some point. Why? Because it’s the largest group of it’s kind dedicated to raise money to find a cure for cancer (in this case, Leukemia and Lymphoma).

What drives you to do Team in Training?

My father, is not only affected by Hairy Cell Leukemia (13 years remission), he is also a Team in Training Alum (walked 3 marathons, most recently the 1999 Disney Marathon). Read my testimony here and please make comments on how Leukemia and Lymphoma has changed your life as well! Blood cancers are terrible diseases that affects many and will likely affect you or someone you know during the course of your life.

What event are you training for?

I’m gearing up to complete my second event with Team in Training, the Rock ‘N Roll San Diego Marathon in June 2010, God-willing, this will be my first full marathon!

In January 2010, I completed the Aramco Houston Half Marathon as my first event with Team in Training! I never really thought of myself as a marathon runner, but decided it was about time to try one. To warm up, I ran the San Antonio Half Marathon in November 2009.

How can I help?

You can help in a number of ways. The easiest is to help motivate me! This can take the form of posting comments and encouragement and by monetary donations to my Team in Training effort (payable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). Remember that all donations are tax deductible and that the money will go to a great cause, plus due to my generous company match program, every dollar will be matched by my company, you really can’t beat that!

How can I follow your progress?

Easy! There are a couple ways you can do it…

First you could subscribe to my email feed, where you can get email notifications when I update my blog.

Also, you can follow by checking this page regularly, where I’ll keep links to my progress!
